SPRING is in the air and members of Sunraysia
Garden Club are conducting an Annual Spring
Flower and Floral Design Show for district
gardeners to showcase Spring blooms grown in
The show includes all levels of Floral Design that
are of a very high standard and well worth seeing.
The Daffodil and Camellia sections always
provide visitors with an excellent display along
with pansies, violets, salvias, hellebores, gerberas,
daisies, snapdragons and many more varieties of
Spring blooms all vying for a blue ribbon.
Other sections call for exhibits of trees and
shrubs in bloom, ferns, begonias, bromeliads, bulbs,
cacti and succulents.
The show is held in the Sunraysia Masonic
Centre, 2091 15th. Street, Irymple and is open
from 12.30 until 5pm on Saturday, September
7 and on Sunday, September 8, from 10am until
Morning and afternoon tea is available and there
is a plant stall loaded with plants propagated from
member's gardens. Admission is $3 and easy off-
street parking is available.

Sunraysia Masonic Centre Celebrating 27 years
THE Mildura Country Music Festival cel-
ebrates its 27th birthday this year, and con-
tinues to go from strength to strength.
The 10-day festival, from September 27 to
October 6, attracts a massive following with
various venues across Sunraysia jam-packed
with country music fans.
Festival Co-ordinator John Arnold said
the annual event would celebrate its 27th
birthday with gigs at 28 venues across Sun-

of the Sunraysia business community, per-
formance venues and the accommodation
"Both the Mildura and Wentworth coun-
cils have supported the festival over a long
period," Mr Arnold said.

This year's Mildura Country Music Festi-
val is shaping up to be another special event
with close to 100 artists promising plenty
The highlight of the festival is always the
presentation of the Southern Stars, the Aus-
tralian Independent Country Music Awards
- to be held on Saturday October 5.
